Seattle Kraken vs. Las Vegas Knights
It’s the Seattle Kraken’s first season in the NHL and I couldn’t be more excited! Last week, I partnered with Allegiant Airlines to fly nonstop from Seattle to Las Vegas to watch the Kraken play the Golden Knights at the T-Mobile Arena. What a way to attend my first NHL game!
When I moved to NYC a few years ago, I became more of a Seattle sports fan because it made me feel connected to home. On game days, my Seattle friends and I would go to Seattle sports bars that were showing games to cheer on our teams and meet other people who are from the Seattle area. I took pride in wearing my Seattle jerseys in a sea of our rivals!
I spent three days in Las Vegas and stayed at the Cosmopolitan. The last few months have been stressful at work, so this short and fun getaway was what I needed. It has been about two years since I was last in Las Vegas, but I was excited to go back to feel the energy, enjoy warmer weather, and eat good food. The Cosmopolitan is about a 15 minute walk to the T-Mobile Arena, so our location was convenient. On game day, we saw other Seattle fans wearing Kraken jerseys - these are always the people I want to high-five! We watched the game in Allegiant’s suite and enjoyed some catered food. Bummed that the Kraken lost 2-4, but thankful to watch the action in person!
Here are some highlights from the trip:
Watching the Kraken game from the Allegiant Suite and meeting other Seattle fans
Sitting poolside at the hotel and enjoying the warmer weather
Dinner at Momofuku (must order pork belly buns) and drinks at Vanderpump (swanky ambiance)
Seeing one of my college friends and eating hand pulled noodles
